The department looks develop the students physically, intellectually and social as part of the national curriculum. Lessons provide students with the opportunity of participating in, and understanding, a variety of physical activities.
The Department also aims to promote the following:
Develop a variety of physical skills
Learn how to enjoy sporting activities
Develop good self-discipline and a sense of pride and self-confidence in themselves and their work
Develop an understanding of the benefits of exercise and the importance of physical fitness in the maintenance of good health

Key Stage 3 Curriculum
The Key Stage 3 curriculum provides a range of challenging and meaningful opportunities for students of all abilities. Students will be encouraged to achieve their potential in a caring and supportive environment.
Sports and activities that pupils will have the opportunity to participate in throughout the year:
Football, Basketball, Rugby, Hockey, Table tennis, Dodgeball, Long ball, Curling, Boxing
Pupils will also receive the opportunity to participate in sports and activities off-site, such as:
Swimming, Outdoor Action Adventure, Badminton, Fitness suite/Gym, Frisbee Golf
Key Stage 4 Curriculum
Students continue to develop their skills previously learnt within key stage 3 PE.
They will continue to have the opportunity to participate in a range of sports and activities.
Alongside core PE. Pupils will be able to gain qualifications in the following as option choices:

Gateway Level 1 Award In Skills for Sport and Active Leisure
