At Heybridge Co-Operative Academy our curriculum is designed to meet each student’s individual needs, and provide appropriate qualifications and experiences to support their future success. Our curriculum is planned and delivered with the aim of preparing all students for the next steps in their educational pathways. Children are given opportunities to bridge gaps in their knowledge, develop confidence and experience a range of positive learning experiences.
Key Stage 3 and 4 Curriculum
At Key Stage 3, students study the core subjects of English, mathematics and science. They will also study art and design, design and technology (resistant materials and food), humanities, music, PSHE and physical education. Key Stage 3 students also work towards achieving a Young Leaders Award and follow our innovative SEEDS programme, designed to develop better social and emotional wellbeing through increased access to outdoor and community focussed learning. SEEDS is also accessible to students in KS4.
At Key Stage 4, our students can study a range of GCSEs and vocational subjects, including English, maths and science. Students have option choices of art and design, resistant materials, hospitality, history, religious education, health and social care and BTEC sport.
Students also have the opportunity to achieve additional vocational qualifications through work with local colleges including Rallysport, Essex YouthBuild, Construction Training Partnership and Circles Farm
All students have a dedicated tutor who will support and guide their students, advising them on next steps, and providing support for life beyond school.
